Most misting price content, ours included, is written for restaurants and hotels. Yet the same question arrives from homeowners every dry season: what does it actually cost for a 15-metre terrace, not a 150-metre one?
This is the home-specific cost guide, with the same honesty as everything else we write — including when the right answer is “don’t buy an installed system”.
The starting point: the smallest package
Machine packages start at Rp 15.2 million (MistPro 100, up to 60 m²) — and for a home, that “up to 60 m²” matters: the smallest machine usually covers a house’s entire outdoor needs at once. Terrace + pergola + a garden corner can run as zones off one pump, so homes rarely need anything above the first package. The full list is on the pricing page.
Installation, filtration and site works are quoted per home — a short line on a back terrace and a line circling a garden are different jobs. The process from survey to handover is the same as for commercial venues: a 48-hour survey, and installation typically one day for a house.
Daily running costs: smaller than expected
- Electricity: roughly Rp 2,000–5,000 per day of use — a small pump, not an air conditioner.
- Water: 2–8 litres per minute while running. For a home pattern — a few afternoon hours — that’s the equivalent of a few toilet flushes.
- Maintenance: minutes, not money. Nozzle cleaning every 2–4 weeks is a job you can do yourself; the guide is here, and your water quality sets how often.

When a home does NOT need an installed system
Consistent with everything we write — for many homes the honest answer is cheaper:
- One small seating spot used occasionally → a misting fan covers it, and the damp-surface trade-off often doesn’t matter at home.
- An area used a few times a month → skip the permanent investment; the misting fan buying guide helps you choose.
- The problem is direct sun, not air temperature → shade first. The right investment order: shade → fans → then a system.
An installed system earns its place when the outdoor area is the family’s daily living space — dinner on the terrace every evening, kids in the garden every afternoon — and the furniture, cushions and devices need to stay dry.
Quick maths by home scenario
| Scenario | Sensible solution | Upfront cost |
|---|---|---|
| Garden bench, occasional use | Misting fan | Hundreds of thousands to a few million rupiah |
| 10–20 m² dining terrace, daily use | MistPro 100, one zone | From Rp 15.2 million + installation |
| Terrace + pergola + garden, all active | MistPro 100–200, multi-zone | Same package, longer lines |
| Villa with a pool deck | See the villa guide | Per zone design |
The short version
For a home, the misting maths is simple: the smallest package is almost always enough, daily costs sit in the thousands of rupiah, and the real decision isn’t “which package” but “is this area used often enough to justify a permanent investment”. If it is — send photos of your terrace or garden, the approximate size, and your city via WhatsApp; we survey within 48 hours and will tell you honestly if a misting fan is all your case needs.
